Chelsea Meilner figures big in Paonia's plans for the fall, but she'll need help chasing down Lyons. Colorado Track XC file photo by Paul Jaeger.

As usually happens, things get a little thin trying to score the smallest schools by 3200 times (even with scoring only three), but what we see below still gives us an important window on the season ahead. Lyons and Shining Mountain trade places on 1600 and 3200 scoring. And it is absolutely impressive that Lyons had four girls, and nearly five, under 6:00 for the 1600 this spring. Lyons brings back their coach from last fall, while Shining Mountain does not. Lyons also picks up the next in the long-lasting line of Roberts this fall. So, we'll go advantage Lyons here, but while still keeping a watchful eye on Shining Mountain.

Expect Telluride, with at least one incoming impact freshman, to be a load to handle as well. If Heritage Christian Academy can bring along a solid #3, you'll want to be seen in green at the state meet.
