In former days, the South-Central League included schools like Canon City and Alamosa, but those days are no longer. These day, however, the boundaries of "South-Central" extend barely beyond the Pueblo city limits.
The league, then, has dwindled to six teams. And it will come as no surprise that Pueblo West projects, once again, to the top of the pile. Even so, it will be a less familiar list of names for the Cyclones than it's been in recent years. But that spells opportunity for this group to make a name for themselves starting next fall and come out from the shadow of some names that have gone before.
Pueblo South ranks as the most proximate threat; it's a familiar relationship for the Cyclones and the Colts.
