Eaton knows a whole bunch about finishing second at the state meet. But, they're aiming at a different experience this year.

In recent years, the strength of this team has been in the sprints, but that has changed. Graduated are the Ledalls and Pierces. But there is still some measure of talent in the house.
The strength of this team is now in the field events--or, more precisely, the shot put. As a freshman last spring, Tarynn Sieg went over 40 feet to finish second at state. Her best mark of 43-4.5 has her ranked as the top returning shot putter in 3A.
But, guess what? Eaton has two more returning shot putters among the classification's top seven. Jayla Jarnagin and Caiden Rexius both return with 36+ marks from last spring.
