It won't come as too much of surprise to much of anyone that Cheyenne Mountain figures to be a distance-strong 4A entry this spring. That's even more true this year than last with the departures-by-graduation of jumper Colt Sessions and thrower Grayson Webber.
The big three in distance figure to be juniors Thomas Staines and James Jones, along with senior William Mayhew. Mayhew figures to specialize at 800 and 1600. Staines proved last year he can be effective at all three distances. And Jones probably stays mostly longer at 16 and 32. With three guys that good, you have to figure a monster 4x800 is also a real possibility, though I won't presume here to name a fourth member of that relay.
Mayhew could easily also serve as a 4x400 leg if Cheyenne Mountain can put enough of those...
