At this point, pending any late entries, it appears Colorado will be sending a delegation of 10 to New Balance Nationals Indoor.
As you might have expected, that delegation of 10 is a little tilted toward the sprint events, but not exclusively so.
Here's a quick profile of each of the Colorado entries to date:
Trevor Cook, 60 Meter Dash (Championship) and 200 Meter Dash (Emerging Elite) - Cook, a junior at Longmont High School, owns a top time from the indoor season of 7.07 from the Simplot Games and a PR of 6.99.
Maya Evans, 60 Meter Dash (Championship) and Long Jump (Championship) - Evans, a freshman at Vista Peak, has posted best marks this season of 7.62 and 19-4.25, both PRs.
London Evans, 200 Meter Dash (Championship) - Evans, a sophomore at Ralston Valley, completed an indoor circuit at Simplot in 25.06. That would serve as both an indoor and outdoor PR for Evans.
Kiana Gomez, 60 Meter Hurdles (Championship) - Gomez's 8.70 from this year's Air Force High School Indoor Open stands as her best time ever for the 60 Hurdles. Gomez is a junior at Brighton High School.
Alexis Groce, 60 Meter Dash (Championship) - Groce, a George Washington senior, takes her 7.56 PR from the Simplot Games as her seed mark to New York.
Ashlyn Hare, High Jump (Championship) - Hare, a Rampart senior, makes the trip to New York with a season-best high jump of 5-7 and a PR of 5-8
Kaleigh Kroeker, Mile (Emerging Elite) - Kroeker's 1600 PR of 5:02.61 approximates the best mile time ever for the Pine Creek senior.
Javan Lanier, 60 Meter Dash (Championship) and 200 Meter Dash (Emerging Elite) - Lanier, a Regis Jesuit junior, has enjoyed a strong indoor season to date, posting top marks of 6.95 and 22.50.
Tabor Scholl, Mile (Championship) - Scholl, a West Grand senior who has signed with CU, has barely appeared on the indoor scene this winter, but did roll out a winning time of 4:56.32 for the Simplot 1600.
Tyler Scholl, Mile (Junior High) - Though I'm a little less confident that I have Tyler Scholl's best mile recorded on Colorado Track XC, he has run at least 4:49.30 for the event.
Emily Sloan, 60 Meter Hurdles - Sloan has burst on the indoor hurdle scene even before she has run an official track meet for Rock Canyon. Her season-best and PR time is 8.57.
Shayna Yon, 60 Meter Dash - Yon makes three Colorado entries in the girls 60 meter dash. Yon, a Cherokee Trail senior, as run 7.49 this season, a mere .01 off of her PR.
New Balance Nationals Indoor will be held March 13 - 15 at The Armory Track and Field Center in New York City.
