October 9 is not October 31, but the statements made by the Boulder boys and Broomfield girls at Friday's running of the Pat Amato echoed to every corner of the state.
In the boys race, nobody was even in Boulder's league. At least not on this day. Any way you look at it, putting five runners into the top 11 in a 42-team meet is sending a message.
There was no first, second, and third for Boulder, but Sean Riedel got things going in fourth with a 16:22. Sam Primozich was just three seconds behind. Better still, fifth runner Luke Zacharias was a mere nine seconds behind Riedel.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is packing them in.

Boulder is by no means a lock on a state title, but anyone ignoring the Panthers at this point just simply doesn't have a clue.
