Where Are We This Year Versus Last Year's State-Qualifying Standards? 1A Boys

Not only is Luke Duggan at the top of the 1A pile for 1600 meter qualifying, but he has also already established a new 1A 1600 record at 4:39.59. Colorado Track XC file photo by Alan Versaw.

With a substantial weekend of 1A meets just completed, it now makes more sense to look at where 1A is with respect to last year's state-qualifying standards than it did last week. To review, 1A sends nine athletes/teams to state in laned events, 10 athletes to state in field events, and 12 athletes/teams in the 800, 1600, 3200, and 4x800.

The middle column of the table below shows the 1A cutoff for state in each of the 18 boys events last year before scratches. The right-hand column shows what the cutoff standard is for each of those 18 events as of the meets completed this past weekend.
