Kayla Zink is a good enough sprinter to threaten Zariah Mason's two-year stranglehold on the 1A sprint events.

Last year's 1A Girls state meet was a tour de force by Heritage Christian Academy. The Eagles did take a couple of serious hits to graduation, but they'll definitely be back as part of the mix this spring?

This article will help to answer the question of what other teams will be involved in the title hunt.

On the next page, you will find top 12 rankings of returning athletes for all state meet events. Then, on following pages, we'll do a countdown of the Colorado Track XC picks for the top five 1A Girls teams in the state, in descending order.

Note that South Baca got left out of the top 12 rankings owing to the fact that the co-op down in that corner of the state competed as Baca County last year. The changes aren't enormous, but Bree-Ann Carwin should be at #2 in the 400 meter rankings, #1 in the 800 meter rankings, and #7 in the triple jump rankings. Tyree Jones would be at...
