Colorado's stacked freshmen class did not disappoint at last week's NXR-Southwest championships.
Three dipped under 18 minutes, led by Cherry Creek's Riley Stewart who ran a huge 17:18 personal best. Stewart's 17:18 was seventh in the championship division, and she was the first non-senior or non-junior to finish.
Cameron McConnell and Emily Beckner both dipped under 18 as well, with McConnell running 17:42, and Beckner cracking 18 for the first time, running 17:50.
