Sprints (100, 200, and 400)

In the 100 and 200 junior Sydney Holiday of Broomfield enters as the top seed (11.83 and 24.34 respectively), and looks to challenge the meet records both of which are held by former Cherokee Trail standout Taylor Watson.

In the 100 she will be challenged by ThunderRidge sophomore Teagan Zwaanstra who has run under 12 and junior pole vault sensation Mia Manson of Monarch who has run 12.03.

In the 200 she is the only athlete entered that has run sub 25, but will be challenged by Niwot's super sophomore Taylor James who has run 25.03.

In the 400 James is the top seed with a pr of 54.72.  The next two seeds are both Freshman. ThunderRidge's Kylie Bahr (57.61) and Cherry Creek's Kel McDavid (58.88).  This event has 7 athletes that have run under 60 seconds.

Hurdles (100H, and 300H)

Mountain Vista junior Kara Lucyk leads the field in both hurdle races as the top seed with times of 14.94 and 44.61. In the 100H Grandview junior Kameryn Brown is the second seed at 15.10 and Niwot junior Elise Gillett is third at 15.31.

In the 300H Fort Collins junior Samantha Gordon has run 44.80 and Smoky Hill senior Amelia Johannes has run 45.20. Which should make for a great race Friday night.

Distance (800, 1600, and 3200)

In the 800 the top seed time is Grandview Senior Kaitlyn Mercer. Mercer will look to continue her comeback from injury and regain the form that propelled her to a pr of 2:12.17. She will have competition from Niwot senior Maggie Smith (2:16.53) and Monarch senior Julia Mainland (2:18.80). 400m specialist Lily Williams of Grandview will also be joining the field. Two weeks ago Williams won the Arcadia Invitational 400 in 53.97 (US No. 6).

In the 1600 a pair of Mountain Vista athletes lead the field senior Caroline Eck (5:02.24) and junior Sarah O'Sullivan (5:03.22) and look to go under 5 minutes.

In the 3200 two athletes have run under 11 minutes Thompson Valley junior Kenadi Krueger (10:55.43), and Niwot junior Joelle McDonald (10:58.18).

Horizontal Jumps (Long Jump and Triple Jump)

The long jump has five entries over 18'0.  Leading the way is Smoky Hill senior Christine Bailey (18'7) followed closely by Mountain Vista junior Kara Lucyk (18'7) and ThunderRidge sophomore Teagan Zwaanstra (18'7).

In the Triple Jump ThunderRidge senior Anna Hart leads the way with a mark of 39'2, and the second seed is Fort Collins sophomore Taryn Burkett (38'6).

Vertical Jumps (High Jump and Pole Vault)

In the High Jump Niwot's all everything Sophomore Taylor James will face off against Grandview's two sport star senior Alisha Davis. James has a lifetime best of 5'8.5 and Davis cleared 5'7 last weekend.  Newcomer freshman Brooke Naughton from Fort Collins will also be in the mix with a season best effort of 5'5.  This event will feature six girls that have cleared 5'0 or better.

In the Pole Vault Monarch junior Mia Manson, the daughter of pole vault legend Pat Manson, leads the way with a lifetime best vault of 13'4.25.  She may look to break the Colorado state record of 13'9 at the Twilight. The second seed is Chaparral junior Erin Joost (12'0)

Throws (Shot Put and Discus)

In both the Shot Put and Discus the top seed is Broomfield senior Joy Fifita. She boasts pr's of 40'3.5 in the Shot Put and 129'6 in the Discus. She faces the most competition in the Discus from Rocky Mountain junior Anna Holland (129'1) and Palmer Ridge senior Julia Howe (125'11).

Relays (Sprint Med, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800)

The relays are the hardest to forecast. The meet record most in jeopardy is probably the 800m Sprint Medley. Grandview posted an early season 1:48.89 in March, and looks to better that time at the Twilight.  At the Stutler Twilight, no matter how fast the 4x4 records may appear, they are never safe.

Niwot, Grandview and Smoky Hill will look to battle again this year. Last year all three teams posted times well under 4 minutes, and have the firepower to do so again in 2019.  Fort Collins also looks to go sub 4 on Friday Night.
