Heritage Christian took a hit with the graduation of Seth Bruxvoort, Levi Kilian, and Keaton Case, which leaves the door wide open for another trio.
So, who's going to storm the classification and lay claim to 2A?
Based on speed, the Lyons Lions are the team to beat in 2019.
Leading the squad is Isaac Roberts, and his 15:28 personal best from Nike Cross Regionals tops all-comers in 2A. Add Simon Stone and Jordan Shackelford to the mix, and you've got the fastest returning squad in 2A.
Collectively the 2018 runner-ups have an average time of 16:50, and a 1-3 split of 2:22. It's of additional note that all three times were run at Nike Cross Regionals, as they were the only squad to compete at lower elevations.
Though, if we look further down the list, it appears that their performances would remain on top of this list, even if they were run in Colorado. In other words - even with a reverse-altitude conversion, they'd still be the fastest returning squad.
