For Mark Wetmore's Colorado Buffaloes, it's one meet down and four to go. And, for this meet, there was nobody standing in the way of the stampede of Buffaloes. Things will look quite a bit different for the Buffs at Pre-Nationals in two weeks.

Colorado easily dismantled the Division I competition with Jenny Barringer and Ally McLaughlin going 1-2 on the women's side and Kenyon Neuman taking the men's title with Matt Tebo, Richard Medina, and Christian Thompson all close behind. McLaughlin's time (20:22) was the eighth fastest women's time ever recorded on the course.

Mesa State's Alexis Skarda (21:43) was the top Division II finisher among the women. Metro State's women took the non-Division I title, while Metro's men were edged out for the non-Division I team title by Garden City Community College.

Meanwhile, Adams State and Western State traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma, in search of challenge. They found it.

On the women's side, Adams State took sixth with Vanessa Roy leading the Grizzly pack with a 17:34 for 5K, good enough for fifth place. Moffat County graduate Alicia Nelson was next for Adams State at 18:04. Western State's women finished 13th overall, with Hillary Davis just making it into the top 50 individuals.

For the men's 8K race, Adams State got a 2-6 finish from Brian Medigovich (23:51) and Aaron Braun (23:58), but only a third-place finish overall, behind Northern Arizona and William and Mary. Western State collected a fifth-place overall finish, led by Iain Donnan (24:17) and Tyler Pennel (24:26).
