A year ago Riley Stewart torched a Colorado 1,600 state record of 4:44.13 at the 2021 edition of the Stutler Twilight.
Saturday night she added the 3,200 state record to her resume.
The Cherry Creek senior blazed a mind-numbing 10:06.23 3,200 state record at the 2022 edition of the Stutler Twilight. The performance break's Brie Oakley previous state record of 10:09.26, set at the 2017 Colorado State meet.
The future Stanford Cardinal now owns Colorado state records in the 1,600, and the 3,200.
Stewart's run is obviously a CO No. 1, and a US No. 6 - excluding any altitude conversions. I'll allow for the reader to speculate how many seconds-per-mile could be accounted for. Needless to say, spectators at Stutler were treated to a historic performance Saturday night.
As impressive as Stewart's state record is, it wasn't the only one coming out of Saturday's action. Clearly, everyone is gearing up for the State meet...
