Future Stars: Meet Jayden Michaelis

In this week's edition of Future Stars we'll take a look at recent stand-out freshmen performances...

On that note, Colorado: Meet Jayden Michaelis.

The Berthoud freshmen has run the 300 Hurdles five times this season, and he appears to be finding his stride. 

Michaelis recently ran a personal best of 42.54 at the R2J Invitational this past week. That's the second time he's cracked 43-seconds, and over two-seconds faster than his season-opening 44.70. 

He leads the freshmen class in the 300H by a nearly half-a-second. Additionally, he's No. 2 in the class in the 110H.

Peyton Sommers -  The Cherokee Trail freshman has consistently improving each week. He swept the sprints at the Ponderosa Frosh/Soph Invitational, winning the 100 in a class-leading 11.30.

Jackson Fagerlin - Likewise, the Resurrection Christian freshman ran a 2:00.70 800 at the Bronco Stampede.

Benjamin Anderson - The Mountain Vista freshman now leads the class in the 1,600, and the 3,200. He ran 4:22.66 in the 1,600 at the Stutler Twilight. The time leads the class by seven-seconds.

Jeremiah Hoffman - Who adds six-inches to their high jump PR in five days? This guy! The Severance freshman cleared 6-5 at the Weld County Championships. Not only does that lead the freshmen class, but it's a CO No. 5

Jarrius Ward - On the topic of big improvements... The Overland freshman added over 17-feet to his discus PR, tossing 141-9 at the Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational.

Caleb Mayer - The Pueblo West freshman tossed a class-leading 40-8 in the shot put at the SCL League Meet/Pueblo County Championships.

Bella Nelson - The Niwot freshman sliced 10-seconds off her 1,600 PR, running 4:57.03 to win the event at The Stutler Twilight.

Kaeli Powe - The Cherokee Trail freshmen leapt to a 38-9 triple jump at the Ponderosa Frosh/Soph Invitational, and more recently won the long jump at The Stutler Twilight with a leap of 18-7.5.

Jaidalynne Ortiz - The Central (GJ) just added 20-feet to his discus PR, tossing 110-7 at the Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational. Interestingly enough, his first attempt in the event this season was a 65-4 - that's a major improvement!
