Tasty Race Tuesday: Girls Cherry Creek Steve Lohman Invite

Three Sub-18 performances in the same race on the second week of the 2022 Colorado cross country season?

It doesn't get much tastier than that...

Ok.

There's a Jalapeno cheddar tortilla, cheddar jack cheese, 1/2 bacon, 1/2 chorizo, potatoes, scrambled eggs, Renegade hot sauce, and roasted jalapeno pico.

In other words, it's The Inferno Breakfast Burrito from Renegade Burrito.

I figured, early-season = breakfast. High quality + fast race = a loaded burrito lathered in Renegade hot sauce.

Tessa WalterNadhia Campos, and Addison Price made for the Race of the Week at the Cherry Creek Steve Lohman Invitational

Add that that all three ran Colorado personal bests, and ran themselves into the top-six ever for the meet.

From the opening mile it was down to three, and Walter made sure the latter part of the race kept it that way. The Air Academy sophomore pressed the pedal to the floor and was rewarded with a massive Colorado PR of 17:31. Her performance was a 1:07 faster than she ran here a year ago.

Walter's race alone was impressive, but what made this race extra tasty was that she wasn't the only one who was turning heads.

Campos finished four-seconds behind Walter, running 17:35. The time was a Colorado PR by just under 40-seconds for the Vanguard sophomore, and the fastest time in 2A by two-and-a-half minutes.

Price finished seven-seconds behind Campos in 17:42 - a time that would've won the race last year. Price's performance was a Colorado PR by just over half-a-minute.

Oh yeah, and it was a season-opener for all three ladies.

There's a lot to be excited about for the season ahead!
