Meet Records Fall As Let's Get REAL Championship Gets REAL

As with the Air Force High School Open, the straightaway sprints belonged to the Ciccios'.

Joe Ciccio won the 60 in 6.90 meet record, while his brother Trey Ciccio won the 60H in 8.08.

Meanwhile Tavon Underwood made no contest of the 200, breaking his own meet record by torching a 22.06.

In the 800 Jacob Bach showed how getting out-kicked can fuel your stride -- but we'll come back to that in a few lines.

Bach attacked with 500 meters to go to ensure that no one would have any kick left in their legs. The move worked, and he was rewarded with a 1:57.97 victory.

Now, back to that whole "fueling your stride" line.

Several hours earlier Bach held a solid lead in the mile, but it was Ryan Olree who timed his kick to perfection. Olree took the race down to the line, winning on the line in 4:21.24 to Bach's 4:21.38.

And that wasn't the only time Olree showed he had gears.

In the second-to-last event of the day -- the 3,200 -- Olree shadowed Kaden Levings around the track before torching the final 100 meters to win in 9:49. Levings was four-seconds back in 9:53.

Olree's day wasn't just highlighted by his two wins -- they were also two meet records, and PRs for the Denver South senior.

In the field events Sonny Ciccarelli was the big highlight, clearing 6-6.75 to win the high jump in a meet record. What's additionally impressive about the performance is the fact that it was his first competition of 2023. Antoni Smith was a close second in 6-4.75.

Another meet record that fell came in the pole vault, where Tate Murdock cleared 13-7 to win the event.
