In this week's edition of Colorado Future Stars we'll be taking a look at recent sophomore standout performances.
Colorado, meet Jesse Hatland!
The Centaurus sophomore recently finished second in the 800 at the Centaurus Twilight with a nicely sized two-second personal best of 1:56.49.
The time currently ranks him No. 1 in the sophomore class, and No. 6 across all grades and classifications. It's also No. 3 in 5A.
Hatland has run the 800 five times, with four dipping under two-minutes.
The Centaurus sophomore has quite a range - he's run 12.26 in the 100, 51.32 in the 400, and 4:38 in the 1,600.
He finished 114th at the 2022 5A Colorado State Cross Country Championships last fall, and ran 2:05 in the 800 as a freshman last spring.
Clearly, he's made quite a leap over the winter.
