Colorado Future Stars: Benji Anderson

In this week's edition of Colorado Future Stars we'll be taking a look at recent standout sophomore performances!

Colorado - if you haven't already, meet Benjamin Anderson! (AKA Benji)

As of this writing, the Mountain Vista sophomore is currently No. 1 in the sophomore class across the entire distance events. That' the 800, the 1,600, and the 3,200.

Most recently Anderson ran a 1:54.05 in the 800 at the Continental League Championship. Not only does that lead the sophomore class, it's a 5A. No. 4

Several weeks ago he ran 4:17.07 in the 1,600 at the Stutler Twilight - that's a 5A No. 3, and he ran 9:24.00 at the Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational - that's a 5A No. 4

Last fall he ran 15:00 at the Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational, and had a rare off day at State, where he finished 39th. 

As a freshmen he ran Colorado personal bests of 4:20.36 in the 1,600, and 9:38 in the 3,200. He finished 11th in the 1,600 at State, and 10th in the 3,200. In his freshmen cross country season he finished 11th at State, and ran a season-best of 15:37.

Jarrius Ward - Overland - He threw 184-5 in the discus at the Cherry Creek Invitational

Emili Voelker - Timnath - She ran 11.71 in the 100 at the Patriot League Meet

Peighton Marrero - Strasburg - She ran 57.86 in the 400 at the Patriot League Meet

Peyton Adams - Mountain Vista - She ran 2:15.03 in the 800 at the Continental League Championship

Alexandria Carelock - Cherokee Trail - She ran 46.69 in the 300H at the Cherry Creek Invitational.

Kaeli Powe - Cherokee Trail - She leapt to a 19-2 long jump at the Cherry Creek Invitational.

Taegan Olson - Roosevelt - She cleared 12-2 in the pole vault at the Longs Peak/NCAC/Mile High League Meets.
