Though Zenobia Witt of Eaglecrest High School already has a state title to her name, winning the long jump last year in the 5A division, she deserves some recognition as a future star, because of how much she has continued to progress already in the postseason and her strong start so far this season. Plus, to win a state title as a freshman is pretty impressive, and it looks like Witt wants to continue her winning ways.
So far this season, Witt has jumped 18-10.5, which puts her at the top spot for all sophomores in Colorado and #2 overall. She also is ranked #4 overall in triple jump with a mark of 36-5.5. Witt also jumped a staggering 20-2.5 over the summer at the Colorado Junior Olympics. She also jumped a wind-aided mark of 40-1 in another summer meet in the triple jump. Clearly Witt has even more potential to grow this season once the temperatures start to warm up.
With those kind of PRs during the summer, Witt has the opportunity to defend her state title in the long jump, and she definitely has the best shot at it.
