CO Track and Field Breakthrough Performances (03/30-04/05)

Several Colorado high school track and field athletes recorded personal bests at meets held April 2-4.

Eli Cornell, Elbert High School: Cornell cleared 6-4 in the high jump at the 62nd Warren Mitchell Invitational, improving from his previous best of 5-9 he set earlier in March! The mark places him tied for 10th in Colorado and tied for 9th among seniors. Cornell finished second among 28 competitors and also set a huge personal best in the 400 meters, clocking 53.81 after entering with a best of 59.04.

Tyler Himebauch, Palmer Ridge High School: Himebauch threw 164-3.5 in the discus at the PPAC League Championship, bettering his previous mark by over 20 feet of 144-0! The performance ranks sixth in the state and third among seniors. Himebauch placed second of 61 competitors and added a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 46-5, improving from 46-0.

Dylan Coster, Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy: At the 62nd Warren Mitchell Invitational, Coster ran 16.09 in the 110-meter hurdles, dropping from his previous best of 17.04! The sophomore is tied for 54th statewide and  8th in his class. Coster won the event among 19 competitors and also posted a personal best of 44.43 in the 300-meter hurdles, improving from 44.80.

Bryce Hudson, Salida High School: Hudson threw 49-3 in the shot put at the Salida Invitational, improving from his previous mark of 44-4! The senior ranks 15th statewide and won the event among 29 competitors.

Max Sipperly, Timnath High School: At the Altitude Invite, Sipperly ran 22.43 in the 200 meters, improving from his previous best of 22.99 set in March. The sophomore ranks tied for 40th statewide and 7th in his class. Sipperly placed fourth of 47 competitors.

Anna Bagley, Berthoud High School: Bagley ran 11:27.77 in the 3200 meters at the Altitude Invite, bettering her previous best of 11:48.33 from March. The sophomore ranks 42nd in the state and 7th in her class. Bagley won the event among 22 competitors.

Emmy Hardee, Fruita Monument High School: Hardee cleared 5-3 in the high jump at the Frank Woodburn Invitational, improving from her previous height of 5-1! The senior ranks tied for 18th statewide and tied for 6th in her class. Hardee won the event among 19 competitors.

Makaylee Meyer, Roosevelt High School: Meyer cleared 11-6 in the pole vault at the Altitude Invite, bettering her previous height of 11-0! The senior ranks tied for 7th in Colorado and 5th in her class. Meyer won the event among 15 competitors.

Marli Brenner, Fossil Ridge High School: At the Altitude Invite, Brenner clocked 2:20.96 in the 800 meters, lowering her previous best of 2:27.22 from March. The sophomore ranks 32nd in Colorado and 5th in her class. Brenner finished seventh of 41 competitors.

Maiya Lott, Mountain Vista High School: Lott clocked 12.68 in the 100 meters at the Legend Titan Track Clash, lowering her previous best of 12.84 from March. The senior ranks 56th in the state and 25th in her class. Lott finished seventh of 52 competitors.
