3A Region 4 and the Patriot League are very nearly the same thing. So, if this regional preview reads a lot like a league analysis, now you know why. Generally speaking, the level of cross country here is pretty good by 3A standards.

1. Frontier Academy - This one's a very close call and it goes to FA on the basis of depth. The Wolverines seem to be just a bit stronger at #4 than Estes Park. Chris Baker should be on everyone's radar screen in 3A, but Frontier goes deeper than Baker. Drake Bytnar, Connon Van Buskirk, Brody Lewis, and Josh Fogel all run in the 17s at least once last season. That gives Frontier something no other 3A team in the state has--five guys proven at sub-18. You have your preseason favorite for this region.
