Almost all of Colorado's 5A teams are located in the Denver metro area and points north. This is the region devoted to the few Colorado Springs area schools that climb into 5A kind of enrollment counts. There are so few of these schools, however, that the region requires of serious helping of Douglas County schools (but not quite all of the Douglas County schools) to fill out the region.
