What's Up this Week?

Well, no, this week isn't nearly as busy as a month ago, but the running sports haven't exactly gone into hibernation, either.

On Wednesday, there are the CHSCA All-State cross country races in Alamosa, featuring graduating seniors who ran at the state meet in October. Racing starts at 8:30 AM with a race featuring local youth (and there is definitely some distance talent coming up in the San Luis Valley). The girls take their turn at 9 AM, followed by the boys at 9:30.

Cole Park is the place you want to be. And Colorado Track XC plans to be there, too.

This weekend is more or less the weekend between big June meets. Great Southwest is done, and Brooks PR and NBNO loom next weekend. But, if you need your fix of track and field between these mega events, there's the Landsharks All Comer meet at Lewis Palmer High School. That one starts at 8 AM. I've learned not to try to guess when a USATF club meet might end. It ends when it ends.

There's still time left to register for that meet, but some early names on the registration list include Anthony Brown, Ashley Register, Sarah Oancia, Rylee Anderson, Brittany Fuchs, Kyle Rex, Marcus Howard, and several more.

Colorado Track XC plans to be on hand for coverage of that one as well.

If you're into looking ahead, you'll want to tune in for the webcast of Brooks PR (right here on the MileSplit network). Colorado entries for that meet include Jordyn Colter (800), Katie Rainsberger (mile), Lauren Gregory (mile), Tabor Scholl (mile), Becca Schulte (400), William Mayhew (800), and Blake Yount (800). There could potentially be additional Colorado entries as the fields are not yet filled for that event.

And, of course, there will be a Colorado contingent headed out to North Carolina for New Balance Nationals Outdoor as well. I do not, however, have that entry list yet.
