Sadie McMullen Goes The Distance At Mines

The girl's long jump was perhaps the most competitive of the night, as Valor Christian teammate Megan Lonneman had a big night of her own. The junior went big for a personal best, going 18-9.5 for a US No.4 behind McMullenMullen's Agur Dwol also went over 18 feet, landing at 18-4.25 - a Colorado No.3.

Just a few feet away from the long jump was another hotly contested competition - the girl's pole vault.

Mia Manson vaulted to a season best of 12-8, which leads Colorado and was a US No. 10, and she was pushed by eighth-grader Lilly Nichols, who finished second in 12-2. The mark was a PR for Nichols by nearly half a foot. Megan Kelleghan finished third with a mark of 11-8.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the track Amanda Opp made little competition of the shot put, throwing 37-4.25.

On the track Sydney Holiday starred in highly competitive 60 race that saw six crack eight seconds. Holiday powered away for a 7.66 victory.

Taylor James had a busy night.

The Niwot junior hit the track for the first time in 2020 with a workout of sorts, running the 60, the 300, and 800.

She finished second in the 300 behind Amarachi Onuoha's 41.95, and cruised away with a dominating victory in her signature event - the 800 - running 2:18.

The 800 was yet another highly competitive event, as six went under 2:30. Jocelyn Millican took the runner-up spot in 2:24, just ahead of teammate Riley Colby, who finished third in 2:26.

In the 60 Hurdles Elise Gillett reigned supreme. The Niwot junior dominated the field with a state-leading 9.05 clocking.

On the boy's side of the competition spectators were treated to a heated battle in the 60, where three dipped under 7.10.

Jackson Connelly charged late, claiming the W in the final strides in 7.02 - a Colorado No. 4, while Korey Hairston and Nii Yartey were just a few steps behind, running 7.06 and 7.09.

In the 800, Josh Dean topped a packed field that saw six run between 2:08 and 2:09. Dean's 2:08.03 won by half a second over Mark Tasker and Andre Stablein

Moving on up in distance, Colin Szuch was the runaway winner in the 3,000. The Evergreen senior torched the field with a 9:36 clocking.

In the 60 Hurdles there was no one who could keep pace with Fischer James Argosino, who dominated th4 the field, running 8.76 for a Colorado No.4.

On the field Teag Parker leapt over the competition - and 6-0 -  to win the high jump in a Colorado No.2, while Anthony Hicks nearly touched 22 feet in the long jump, landing at 21-10 for a Colorado No.2 as well.

The pole vault saw the top three marks in Colorado, led by Hunter Potrykus. The Silver Creek senior was the lone vaulter over 15 feet, clearing 15-2. Noah Kelly took second in 14-8.
