The three-time defending state champs look to be in prime position to keep the streak alive - The Classical Academy returns everyone from their 2020 state champion squad, including their No. 1 runner - Sawyer Wilson, who didn't compete.
In other words, TCA looks stronger than ever.
Leading them in reference to time is Wilson, who ran 18:44 this year. Kennedy McDonald was their top finisher at the State meet - and she finished second. McDonald has also run 18:48 - which is just eight seconds ahead of her sister, Cassidy McDonald, who has run 18:56. That gives the ladies from TCA three sub-19 returners. Add that Sophia Valentine is knocking on the door - she's run 19:10, and that they return five who have run 19:30 or faster with Kyra Shaner's 19:30 clocking. There is no other squad with five this strong - add that they return three from this years top-nine finishers from State. TCA owns a 1-5 average of 19:02, and a 1-5 split of just 46 seconds.
