It's strange to think that under normal circumstances the outdoor season would be starting around now... 

While the official outdoor season is still two months away, there was plenty of action at the Colorado Elite Winter Track Series #3 in Littleton this past Saturday.

Teagan Zwaanstra put on a clinic in the girl's 100 - the ThunderRidge senior ran away from the competition, clocking 12.06. Symone Adams took second in 12.40.

Zwaanstra doubled back for the 200, though she had to battle Camille Peisner into the final strides. Peisner took the victory here by a slim margin - the Valor Christian senior ran 25.07 to Zwaanstra's 25.09.

The victory was Peisner's second of the day - she also dominated the field in the 400, running 56.99. 

The 800 was a much closer race, with Maren Busath and Addison Price sharing the same second. Busath took the win, running 2:20.19, while Price was a stride back in 2:20.93. 

In the 1,600 Maggie McCleskey ran away for a six-second victory. The Centaurus junior ran 5:16. Elliot Pribramsky was second in 5:22. 

Likewise, Allison Pippert was the runaway winner in the 3,200 - running 11:42. 

On the topic of running away, Fabiola Belibi cleared the field and the hurdles in the 100H, running 14.85 - the lone sub-15 clocking. Casia Provencal was just over the mark in 15.07 for second.

In the discus (and the hammer) Giavonna Meeks reigned supreme. Meeks won the discus with a throw of 146-05.75, and the hammer in 166-08.25.

Meanwhile, Amanda Opp claimed the shot put with a toss of 40-7. 

On the boy's side of the competition Gavin Schurr came out of the gates and dropped a personal best of 10.49 in the 100 - with a headwind. He doubled back to claim the 200 in 21.33. 

Matthew Baskin was the runaway winner in the 400, coming oh, so close to crack 50. The Douglas County sophomore ran 50.46.

Likewise, Thomas Fry took a two-second victory in the 800, running 1:57.14. 

Alamosa's Joshua Medina took the 1,600 in the final lap. The Alamosa senior ran 4:22.25 - a three second victory over William Merrick, who ran 4:25.60.

Meanwhile, Oscar Goll took the 3,200 with a 10:00 clocking. 

In the 110 hurdles, Cooper Needham got the victory with a lean - claiming the event by one-hundredth of a second. Needham ran 15.15 to Dominic Gallelli's 15.16.Gallelli didn't go home without a victory though - he won the 400H in 1:00.35.

In the discus Corey Johnson was in a league of his own. Johnson won the even with a toss of 144-09.25.
