Hustling At The Cheyenne Mountain Stampede

Evan Kraus is legitimately streaking.

The Erie junior picked up win No. 3 of his season in the boy's 4A race. And he once again did it in dominating fashion.

Kraus torched the opening mile just over 4:45, and chased the bikes throughout the remaining two miles. He crossed the finish line in a course-best of 16:02, which was also the fastest time of the day.

Behind him Palmer Ridge's Jake Bach took a much more patient approach, and was rewarded with a 16:10 PR -- that's about 36-seconds faster than he ran on this course at last year's state meet.

Sullivan Middaugh and Dominykas Remeikis kicked in 3-4, finishing in 16:16, and 16:19.

Palmer Ridge took the team race by putting three in the top-10. They tallied 50 points, which was just ahead of Battle Mountain's 64. Cheyenne Mountain - who sat out their varsity - finished third with 115.

In the girl's race Bethany Michalak did Bethany Michalak things.

The Air Academy sophomore and defending state champ soloed a 17:55, and made it look easy

Behind her freshmen Ella Hagen and Tessa Walter battled it out for the runner-up spot, with Summit's Hagen taking the honors in 19:24, which was just ahead of Air Academy's Walter, who finished third in 19:32.
