Colorado Future Stars: Calia Vaughn

In this week's edition of Colorado Future Stars we'll be highlighting a few standout performances among the freshman class.

On that note, it appears there's another Vaughn on the rise!

Colorado, meet Calia Vaughn!

The Boulder freshman opened up her high school career with a runner-up finish at the Washington Park Invitational, running 19:16.

The time made her the 10th-fastest in the meet history, and the second-fastest freshmen.

Editor's Note: Owning the meet record is none-other than Vaughn's older sister - Kiki Vaughn - who won this meet a year ago

Going back in time...

Last summer Calia Vaughn finished 13th in the middle school mile at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor, running 5:10.

During the 2023 indoor season she picked up two runner-up finishes at the USATF Colorado Indoor Championships, running 1:03.80 in the 400, and 2:35 in the 800.

Last cross country season she finished sixth at the Northern Colorado Middle School Championship - 3.2K

Editor's Note No. 2: Vaughn is the daughter of two stellar runners - Brent Vaughn, and Sara Vaughn
