Peyton Garrison left Lakewood with a lot of bling.
The Coal Ridge junior came, saw, and conquered.
Garrison won the the 100 in 12.17 over Katie Wrona's 12.22. Then doubled back to win the 200 in 25.02 over Wrona's 25.60.
And a few hours before that, she won the 400 in 56.23 Andie Rasmussen took second in 56.95.
And that was Saturday.
Moving up in distance Mikayla Cheney made it a Coal Ridge sweep of the sprints/mid-distance.
She won a tight 800 race in 2:15.22. Jaycee Williams was a close second in 2:15.35.
Meanwhile Katelyn Maley ran away with the 1,600. The state cross country champion picked up her second state title, running 5:01.10. Cheney took second in 5:04. 29.
A day earlier Allison Beasley kicked late to win the 3,200 over Maley, running 11:02.51. Maley was second in 11:06.31, which was just ahead of Kylie Simshauser's 11:06.32.
In the 100H no one could keep up with Logan Haugestuen. The Liberty Common sophomore won the event in 15.90.
Skylar Hawk took the 300H state title in 46.05, while Aani Hardesty was second in 46.63.
Liberty Common dominated the 4x100 by over two-seconds, while Moffat County won the 4x200. Eaton claimed the Sprint Medley, and Coal Ridge won the 4x400. Meanwhile Berthoud and D'Evelyn took the 4x800 down the line, with Berthoud claiming the title.
In the field events Sierra Haberman and Marin Simons cleared 5-4 in the high jump, while Aaliyah Robinson leapt to 17-8.5 to win the long jump state title.
The triple jump was a hotly contested event, with three leaping within four-inches of each other. Valarie Allen claimed the title with a leap of 36-6, which was just ahead of Savanna Amack's 36-5.25. Isabella Coscetti finished third in 36-2.25.
Friday's mid-afternoon storm (which led to several lightning delays) proved to be an additional challenge in the pole vault. Swirling winds kept the bar from moving too far up.
Despite the additional challenges, Anna Willis won the event in 12-6, and Kourtney Rathke finished second in 12-3 - both are freshmen.
Meanwhile Alexandria Tice swept the throws. The Lamar junior won the discus in 125-0 over Gunnison's Melita Ferchau, who finished second in 119-10. Tice added the shot put title to her resume with at toss of 40-5.25. Taylor Wiescamp finished second in 39-0.
Coal Ridge ran away with the overall team title - they tallied 111 points. Liberty Common took second with 80, while Berthoud finished third with 63.
