Kourtney Rathke Soars To PV Meet Record At Air Force HS Open

In the boy's competition it was the Ciccio Show.

Joe Ciccio won the 60 in 6.91 over Chrisly Kelly-Cannon's 6.95, while Joe's brother Trey Ciccio won the 60 hurdles in 8.05. It's of additional note that Trey ran a state-leading 8.00 in the prelims.

Moving up in distance, Tavon Underwood swept the longer sprints.

The Mead senior led torched a state-leading 21.58 to win the 200. Peyton Sommers also dipped under 22-seconds, running 21.89.

Underwood also won the 400 in 49.23.

Doubling up in distance, Drew Costelow came oh-so-close at writing his name into the record books. The Valor Christian senior kicked late to win the 800 in 1:55.51 - that's just three-tenths-of-a-second off the meet record of 1:55.19.

What's additionally impressive is that this was Costelow's first race in months.

Another impressive feat came in the 2-mile, where Ryan Olree soloed away with a 9:48 victory - at just over 7,000-feet of elevation

In the field events Miller Jones leapt to a state-leading 46-7 triple jump, while Cameron Thomas won the pole vault in the warm-ups. Thomas went on to clear 16-0 to officially win the event.
