Stutzman Sweeps As Statements Are Made At The Pomona Invite

The girls 400 saw an epic battle that went down to the line.

Eaton's Andie Rasmussen and Mountain Vista's Rachel Bair too this one down to the tenths-of-a-second, with Rasmussen claiming the victory in 57.78, while Bair was a stride back in 57.87.

Rasmussen also finished fourth in the 200 finals, ninth in the 300H finals (which ran almost immediately after the 400 finals), and fourth in the long jump.

Keeping with the theme of races that went down to the wire, cue the girl's 800.

Jocelyn Millican personified grit here.

The Valor Christian senior led much of the race, then relinquished her lead on the backstretch, only to come clawing back in the final strides to win the race in 2:18.67 over Rock Canyon's Eloise Stuart, who finished second in 2:19.68.

Moving along to the field events...

Cherry Creek's Addison Edwards won a tight battle in the discus, claiming the event with a 125-0 PR, while Rock Canyon's Petra McGowan raised the bar to win the high jump in a PR of 5-5.

Likewise, the windy conditions didn't make pole vaulting any easier. Regardless of the additional challenge, The Classical Academy's Anna Willis claimed the event with a 11-10 clearance.

In the triple jump Roosevelt's Kylee Kielian picked her third-consecutive victory, landing at 37-0.5.
