The talent in Class 4A is incredibly strong this year led by Oliver Horton of Coronado High School and Aiden Le Roux of Cheyenne Mountain High School. In terms of state title contention, Le Roux is the one to beat, considering he broke the state course record, running a time of 15:01. That kind of time on that challenging of a course is impressive, but tough courses and even tougher conditions is where Le Roux stands out. He also finished 8th overall at the Nike Cross National Championship, where the course is almost guaranteed to be muddy and flooded, which it was last year. 

The playing field seems to level out, however, when racing on flatter, faster courses. Make no mistake, Horton is great on technical courses as well, running 15:30 on the state course and finishing 3rd overall as a sophomore!
