It wasn't just the sizzling temperatures that were burning spiked feet on the track this past weekend - there were some blazing performances... 

There were a ton of new state-leading marks - particularly in 3A.

Here are the highlights of the highlights... 

We'll start at the Titan Invite, because not only do we have a ton of race videos, but Anna Willis raised the bar - literally. 

The Classical Academy freshman cleared 13-2 for a Colorado No. 1, and US No. 2 among the freshmen class.

Meanwhile, there were plenty of big performances at the Dakota Ridge Invitational, but a big highlight was Malique Singleton - he won the 110H in a 5A No. 1 of 14.36. Likewise, Grandview's 4x100 ran a 5A No. 1 in the event, clocking 41.80. On the girl's side of the competition Liberty Common's 4x400 ran a 3A No. 1 of 4:01.93, while Sierra Haberman cleared 5-4.5 for a 3A No. 1 in the high jump.

The LoboCat Invite played host to some stellar results in the field events, particularly in the boys discus. The Fossil Ridge duo of Braiden Dishman and Tanner Arkin both went over 169 feet. Dishman won the event with a toss of 169-6, just ahead of Arkin's 169-8. Currently those are the No. 1 and No. 2 marks in 5A. On the girl's side of the competition Laura Davis tossed a 5A No. 1 of 40-4 to claim the shot put.

A day earlier at the NOCO Series #3 Kajsa Borrman tossed 138-8 in the discus for a 5A No. 1 in the event. Likewise, the Berthoud girl's 4x800 ran a 3A No. 1 of 9:35.41. Samuel Lundy ran a 1A No. 1 of 43.60 in the 300H. Sophia Schuemann ran a 1A No. 1 of 2:35.47 in the 800.

Meanwhile Zeaniah Wedgeworth ran herself to a 5A No. 1 in the 100H at the Centennial League Qualifier #4. The Overland senior ran 14.51. The Cherry Creek girl's 4x800 dropped a 5A No. 1 of 9:07.20 in the 4x800.

At the 5A Jeffco League Relays Qualifier Camille Peisner lowered her 5A No. 1 mark in the 400 down to 55.63.

It was the Niwot show at the Boulder County Track Championships. 

Taylor James is clearly sharpening up for a big June. The Niwot senior ran 4A No. 1 marks of 24.64 in the 200, and 56.12 in the 400. Additionally, the Niwot girls 4x400 squad ran a 4A No. 1 of 3:48.66. On the boy's side of the competition Zane Bergen ran a 4A No. 1 of 4:13.58, while the Niwot 4x400 ran a 4A No. 1 of 3:26.87.

In the 400 Skyline's Andrew Muncy ran a 4A No. 1 of 48.59. Off the track Eddie Kurjak tied his high jump PR and 4A No. 1 of 6-11.

At the SCL League Meet #10 Pueblo East's Xavier Freeman tossed 53-8 in the shot put for a 4A No. 1 in the event. On the girl's side of the competition Gunnison's Melita Ferchau tossed a 3A No. 1 of 132-5 in the discus.

Meanwhile, Holy War saw a few state-leading performances as well. 

Kaleah Ruff inched closer to the Sub-12 barrier in the 100. The Mullen senior ran a 4A No. 1 of 12.01 in the event. On the topic of barriers, Agur Dwol leapt beyond 19 feet, landing at a 4A No. 1 of 19-1.

At the Meeker Invitational Peyton Garrison ran a 4A No. 1 of 24.87.

Earlier in the week Allison Pippert ran a 3A No. 1 of 5:08.65 at the No-Name Invitational, and the Liberty Common girl's 4x100 ran a 3A No. 1 of 49.32. Additionally Bryant Schoenthal went big in the discus, tossing 175-0 for a 2A No. 1 in the event. Ainsley Stanton ran a 1A No. 1 of 5:54.03 in the 1,600.

Friday Night Lights turned out great for Alamos'a Sarah DeLaCerda and Joshua Medina. DeLaCerda - an Alamosa freshman - ran 11:19.57 for a 3A No. 1 in the event, while Medina ran a 3A No. 1 of 4:23.15 in the 1,600. Medina also ran a 3A No. 1 of 1:58.50 in the 800. Additionally Alexandria Tice tossed 40-9 for a 3A No. 1 in the shot put, Anthony Martinez ran 15.17 for a 2A No. 1 in the 110H, Jordan Burnett ran to a 2A No. 1 in the 400, running 56.93, and Zaila Smith ran a 2A No. 1 of 11:58.20 in the 3,200. In the relays the Springfield girl's 4x100 ran a 1A No. 1 of 55.24, and their SMR ran a 2:00.74 for 1A No. 1 in the event.

At the 1st Rumble on the Divide Sydney Samuels ran a 3A No. 1 of 16.57 in the 100H, while Mikayla Hutchison ran a 2A No. 1 of 47.03 in the 300H. Hannah Grover cleared 9-6 for a 2A No.1 in the pole vault.

Meanwhile, the Moffat County girl's 4x200 ran a 3A No. 1 of 1:44.80 at the Steamboat Springs Track and Field

Valarie Allen leapt to a 3A No. 1 in the triple jump at the University Bulldog Invitational. The Sterling senior landed at 36-0.5. Xander Burns cleared 14-5 for a 3A No. 1 in the pole vault, and George Graybill tossed 156-1 for a 3A No. 1 in the discus. Eboselulu Omofoma cleared 5-3 for a 2A No. 1 in the high jump. Erik Lebsock tossed 132-0 for a 1A No. 1in the discus. 

The Platte Valley Meet #2 saw several state-leading marks. Devyn Lauer ran 21.61 in the 200 for a 3A No. 1, Braycen Buxman ran 50.17 for a 3A No. 1 in the 400, and Zac Grable ran 40.25 for a 3A No. 1 in the 300H. Meanwhile, Clay Robinson ran a 11.05 for a 2A No. 1 in the 100, and 22.16 for a 2A No. 1 in the 200. The Yuma boy's 4x100 ran a 2A No. 1 of 44.48. Brady Kuntz cleared 13-1 for a 1A No. 1 in the pole vault.

The Ouray boy's 4x400 took the top spot in the event, running 3:32.51for a 2A No. 1 at the Montrose Invitational. 

At the Kiowa Klassic Eowyn Dalbec ran a 2A No.1 of 5:38.99 in the 1,600. Meanwhile Taysa Conger ran 1:03.15 for a 1A No. 1 in the 400. Maggie Haase cleared 5-2 for a 1A No. 1in the high jump, while Colby Stocker tossed 38-11 in the shot for a 1A No. 1.

The Cedaredge Invitational saw a few state-leading marks as well. The Hotchkiss girl's 4x200 ran a 2A No. 1 of 1:50.94, while the Cedaredge girl's ran a 2A No. 1 of 1:53.18 in the SMR.

Meanwhile, Mary Scoggins leapt to a 2A No. 1 of 35-0.25 in the triple jump at the Tiger/Bulldog Invitational. Likewise, Wesley Ryan cleared 6-6 for a 1A No. 1 in the high jump.

Avery Palmgren had a big weekend - she ran two 1A No. 1s - a 1A No. 1 of 13.16 in the 100, and a 1A No. 1 of 27.18 in the 200, and leapt 17-1.25 in the long jump for a 1A No. 1 in the event.
