Colorado State Preview: Athletes To Watch In All Classes

2A

Two of the best throwers in all-classifications will battle for the 2A state title.

Mohamed Ibrahim and Bryant Schoenthal have battled all season, and as seniors, they'll do it one more this week at State.

In the discus Ibrahim heads to Jeffco as the favorite, despite finishing second to Schoenthal at State last year. Ibrahim owns a personal best of 185-2 this season, while Schoethal is within distance - he's tossed 179-6 just last week. In the shot put the roles remain as they are, with the defending state champ - Ibrahim - with the No. 1 seed of 59-10. Like the discus, Schoenthal is within striking distance with a 57-7.5 PR.

We've got a great battle on our hands here!

A year ago Clay Robinson swept the 100-200. This year he heads to Jeffco as No. 1 in the 200, and the 400. Can he make it a sweep of the sprints this year and earn that Triple Crown? He'll have Mason ClaunchJake Romero, and Joe Ross to battle in the 100.

Remember the name Eboselulu Omofoma, because you'll be hearing a lot of it over the three days at Jeffco. The Dayspring Christian Academy sophomore heads to Jeffco with three state-leading marks to her name - the 110H, the 300H, and the high jump.

Can Cedaredge's Jessica Black and Kylee Terry sweep the 100 on up to the 1,600? Surely, Kaitlyn Pearson will have something to say in the 400, though Black tops the rankings in the 100 and the 200, while teammate Terry tops the rankings in the 800, and the 1,600.
