Delta's Keely Porter jumped to No. 2 in the shot put all-classification rankings this past weekend.

The sun is shining its warm rays down on the green grass, and it finally feels like spring is here to stay. (But hey, it's Colorado, it could still snow...) Every week there has been some revealing performance, and Week 3 was no different.

The past few versions of this recap have been, monstrous in size. So, for real this time, here are the highlights of the highlights... 

We'll start out of Colorado, then come back... 

Riley Stewart, Madison Shults, Mia Prok, and Katelyn Maley were invited to compete at the adidas Boost Boston Games mile, which was run on the road. Stewart led Colorado with a fourth-place finish, running 4:49. Shults finished sixth in 4:51, Prok finished ninth in 4:59, and Maley finished 10th in 5:09. On the boy's side of the competition Gavin Schurr took second in the 100 by fractions of a second. Schurr ran 10.45.

Back in Colorado the two-day meet of Fountain-Fort Carson Invitational was another highly competitive event, even if Saturday afternoon's storm sliced the tail-end of it off. 

A big highlight was Bethany Michalak, who returned to form in the 1,600. The Air Academy freshman won the event in 4:57. On the boy's side of the competition Brandon Hills soared beyond 23-feet in the long jump, again. The Vista Ridge sophomore went 23-0 for the win. In the relays, Air Academy and Fountain-Fort Carson dropped two of the top-five 4x100 times of the season - Air Academy won the event with a 42.86 clocking, just ahead of Fountain-Fort Carson's 42.90.

Meanwhile, the Randall Hess Invitational saw some fireworks. 

Taylor James ran one of the fastest 800s in Colorado in several years. The Niwot senior won the event with a 2:07.75 clocking. While altitude adjustments are debatable in the 800, her time is currently ranked No. 9 in the US. Niwot teammate Kimora Northrup swept the 100 hurdles and the 400, running 14.58 and 57.22. On the boy's side of the competition Zane Bergen got his wheels going. The 4A state cross country champion ran 1:53.71 to win the 800. Teammate Grayden Rauba was less-than two-seconds back, running 1:55.06. In the 1,600 Jackson Shorten cracked 4:20, running 4:18.27 FTW, while Erik Le Roux ran away with the 3,200, running 9:19.07. Mohamed Ibrahim swept the throws, though his big win came in the shot put, where he tossed a Colorado No. 1 of 58-0. 

The Centaurus Twilight played host to several great battles. 

Allison Beasley claimed the 800 in 2:19.59, while Maggie McCleskey and Maelynn Higgins took the 1,600 down to the final straightaway. McCleskey got the W here, running 5:03.37 to Higgins' 5:04.28. Meanwhile Skylar Hawk cracked 45-seconds in the 300H, claiming the event in 44.85. Another big highlight came in the pole vault, where the best of the best clashed. Three cleared 12-3, including freshmen Anna Willis and Kourtney Rathke, and sophomore Megan Kelleghan. On the boy's side of the competition Eddie Kurjak starred. Kurjak won the high jump in 6-8.5, the long jump in 22-9, and the triple jump in 45-4.

In New Castle the Coal Ridge Invitational played host to the best squads on the western slope. 

Keely Porter dominated the shot put with a 39-10 toss - that's a CO No. 2 in all-classifications, and 3A No. 1.  Sierra Bower ran away with the 800 title, running 2:17.98, and  Phoebe Young cleared 11-2 to win the pole vault. On the boy's side of the competition 3A state cross country champ Alex Baca came out swinging - he won the 3,200 in a 3A No. 1 time of 9:36.48.

Back in Denver Ivory Moore was stacked. 

Camille Peisner ran a state-leading 55.98 to win the 400. Valor Christiaan teammate Reese Dragovich finished second in 56.98. Meanwhile Amanda Opp continued to impress in the throws. The Lakewood senior won the shot in 37-9.5. On the boy's side of the competition Carsen Bruns ran a wind-aided 10.90 to win the 100, while Michael Bennett swept the hurdles, running 14.91 in the 110H, and 38.79 in the 300H.

A day earlier, but at the same stadium, the David S. D'Evelyn Invitational played host to a few great performances. Bryce Reeburgh and Zack Gacnik battled over eight laps, with Reeburgh taking the W in 9:32.93, while Gacnik was three seconds back in 9:35.00. Meanwhile Avery Shunneson dominated the throws. The Thomas Jefferson senior won the discus with a toss of 178-0 - just off his CO No. 1 and personal best of 180-7.5, and he won the shot in 50-6.

There was plenty to talk about at the Centennial League Qualifier #3. 

Sophia Cupp ran a wind-aided 25.32 to win the 200, while Cameron McConnell dropped a big PR in the 800, winning the event in 2:12.83. A big highlight was the horizontal jumps, where Melody Nwagwu and Agur Dwol battled into the inches. Nwagwu won the long jump with a leap of 18-11, while Dwol was second in 18-5.5. Dwol turned the tables in the triple jump, however, winning the event with a leap of 38-8.75, which was fractions of an inch ahead of Nwagwu's 38-8. On the boy's side of the competition Sterling Brassfield starred in the sprints - he won the 100 in 10.68, and tied with Ky Oday in the 200 - both were clocked at 21.84. Meanwhile Langston Williams cracked 49 seconds in the 400, claiming the event in 48.48, while Malique Singleton swept the hurdles, winning the 110H in 14.54, and the 300H in 39.02.

Niwot once again highlighted - this time at the St. Vrain RE-1J District Meet Saturday. 

Taylor James won the 400 in 56.90, while Kimora Northrup swept the hurdles, winning the 100H in 14.67, and the 300H in 44.04. 

The 100 was a hotly contested battle at the Fightin' Red Invitational. Devyn Lauer and Braycen Buxman were separated by one-hundredth of a second, with Lauer taking the victory 10.79 to Buxman's 10.80. Lauer also won the 200 in 22.77. Meanwhile Scott Grable won the long jump in 22-5. 

At the PSD QUAD #5 the high jump was the high-light.Brooke Naughton and Lariel Henley both cleared 5-4. Laura Davis won the shot in 38-11. On the boy's side of the competition Braiden Dishman won the shot in 53-7, while Dominic Gallelli won the 300H in 39.54.

The DPS Qual #2 saw some great results coming from the field - Giavonna Meeks remained on top of the throws, winning the discus in 150-5, and the shot in 46-9. Meanwhile Kyairra Reigh won the 200 in 25.15. On the boy's side of the competition Avery Shunneson continued to impress - he won the discus in 178-8. 

On the topic of the discus, Braiden Dishman won the event at the PSD QUAD #4 with a toss of 167-0.
